Vintage Charity Show

Dress - Karen Millen

I attended the Edinburgh Vintage Charity Show last night and what an amazing night. It being my first event attending as a blogger it was really eye opening. The show was put together by a fantastic lady called Lauren Quinn who has been running the event for the past 5 years. Lauren sadly lost her papa to Cancer, she then made it her mission to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK. She has so far has raised £42,000!!! Amazing achievement.
Lauren quoted -
'All events which have taken place over the past half a decade have been run on a zero budget with 100% of the funds going towards the charity. We have even tried our hand at SPL star calendars. We strive to be creative and entertaining whilst raising money to save lives.
These events which I have been motivated to organise through the loss of my amazing Papa are held on the Saturday closest to his birthday.'

The night was filled with glamour and there was a real buzz in the atmosphere. With bagpipes/champagne/harp entrance I knew straight away I was going to have a special evening. I was lucky enough to go backstage and meet some of the designers/boutique owners which was a nice touch. The lady's were super nice and I will no doubt meet up with them again at some point.

The show was vintage glamour themed and this very much reflected on the catwalk. It was fast paced, energetic and really vibrant. The dresses that were displayed were stunning!. I have always had an unconditional love for vintage dresses. If only I could have one for everyday of the week and my life might then be complete. There was a variety of designers/boutiques involved and I will link them all below. There was - Those were the days Vintage, Red carpet Luxury, 21st Century Kilts , Bustle Boutique and Pan-pan bridal.

Congratulations to all who took part and raising money for an amazing cause! Can't wait until next time.
